Henry Do's passion for photography was ignited during a pivotal moment in his childhood. As he immigrated from Vietnam to the United States with his aunt, he gazed out the window of the plane and was captivated by the beauty of the landscape from above. This perspective would stay with him, inspiring his work as a travel photographer and creative director.
Specializing in aerial imagery captured from either a helicopter or drone, Henry's stunning work has graced the pages of top publications including Le Figaro, Lonely Planet, The Telegraph, and National Geographic, just to name a few. He has also had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Adobe, Samsung, Dell, Hilton, Lufthansa, BMW, and the World Wildlife Fund.
Henry's journey to becoming a renowned photographer was not without its challenges. As the oldest male of four siblings in an impoverished area of South Vietnam, he was expected to care for his family from a young age. At just 12 years old, he immigrated to the US, leaving his family behind to start a new life. Despite growing up in Las Vegas and Southern California and beginning a promising career in the IT industry, his passion for photography never waned.
Henry's love for photography first manifested itself through automotive photography, as he documented the work he did on his cars. This passion opened doors for him to travel and eventually led him to explore landscape photography. In those early days, there were no YouTube tutorials to rely on, so he immersed himself in books to learn as much as possible, gaining expertise in his craft.
As drone technology has advanced, Henry has been able to bring his vision to life in new and exciting ways. He still vividly remembers the feeling of fear, exhilaration, and perspective he felt when seeing the world from above for the first time. He hopes to inspire these same emotions in his audience through his work, reminding us that we are all part of something greater than ourselves.
One of Henry's proudest moments came when he partnered with Ravensburger, a German-based puzzle producer, to design and produce a collection of jigsaw puzzles from his creative aerial images. This collaboration showcases not only his talent as a photographer, but also his ability to bring his art to life in innovative ways.
